What Is PPC
You may see the term PPC on the internet from time to time. But what does it mean exactly? PPC stands for Pay per Click. PPC is a system of advertising your webpage, or whatever you may be selling through Google Adwords, or Yahoo Search Marketing. It’s easy to set up an account, but can be rather tricky to succeed in making a profit.
Of course, the best way to make money from your product is to rank well in the search engines. Sometimes, this takes time to do. If your website doesn’t rank well with Google, that’s when PPC is a good idea. You give Google some money to hold, and anytime somebody clicks on one of your ads, you pay for that click.
There really is a science to advertising on the internet and making a profit from it. When you’re just starting out, be sure to start small. Also make sure that you don’t sign up and have Google take money out of your account anytime they need it. Set a daily budget.
There is a story that I heard about a man who was new to pay per click advertising. He put his credit card on file with Google and told them to take money out whenever necessary. He didn’t think anything about it and went to bed. The next morning he woke up and found that his credit card has been maxed out. He spent thousands of dollars on advertising! The worst part about it is he didn’t make too much money from his webpage either.
You really need to focus on your targeted keywords. Are your keywords really expensive? If so, try another keyword with less competition. With Adwords, you can also do a “split ad” campaign.
Split Ad Campaigns let you put together two separate ads and post them on Google. Then you get to see which ad does better and which one does worse.
Working with PPC really is a science that can take years to master. But with our tutorial “The Next Affiliate Idol,” we’ll show you how to succeed with pay per click.
Of course, nothing beats good rankings on Google, but if you need a website to turn money over quickly, PPC is the way to go.
You need to have a website that “holds” your visitors. If you don’t have this on your website, a visitor will click on your ad, go to your site, and leave in less than 5 seconds.
